AFTER TAKING THIS COURSE PARTICIPANTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
- Establish basic foundation and understanding of Dental implants, their biologic basis and applicability in restoring single edentulous areas.
- Predictably diagnose and treatment plan conventional single tooth implants.
- Understand and manage complications with single tooth implants in both anterior and posterior areas.
- Learn how to fabricate surgical guides in house with and without CBCT.
- You will know what works and what doesn't work.
- - You will recognize how to avoid and treat complications.

Gain confidence, improve clinical knowledge and skills to establish successful implant dentistry practice.
Each participant will learn the placement of root form dental implants in a unique simplified step-by-step fashion. This is followed by a hands-on session in establishing diagnosis and treatment plans on actual cases provided by the New York Implant Institute. Each participant will then perform these procedures Hands on, on models, cadavers / pig jaws concluding with performing live surgery under the direct supervision of the course instructor. The objective of this course is to establish clinical comfort with placement of dental implants, manipulation of surgical flaps, obtaining of tension free surgical closure with proper suture materials and suturing techniques, followed by a step-by-step guide to restoring the implant .
The beginners course also includes the learning of the fundamentals of biomechanics the biology of bone, as well as the rationale for the diagnosis, treatment planning, and the clinical practice of placing root form dental implants. The course will also cover pre and post surgical considerations, possible post surgical infections, and the management of complications.
COURSE OUTLINE
Day 1
- Current and future status of implants.
- Endosteal implant design and its importance.
- Understanding bone biology and osseointegration.
- Anatomical considerations and limitations in relation to implant placement.
- Hands-on, Step by step evaluation in establishing diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Interpreting CT (cone Beam), and radiographes, hands on exercise.
- Surgical Guides: It’s importance, different types and fabrication techniques, hands on exercise.
- Principles of hard and soft tissue surgery.
- Hands on Surgical technique and suturing
- Hands-on implant placement on models as well as cadavers/pig jaws.
Day 2
- Understand and manage Prosthetic principles and components in restoring implants.
- An overview of Platlet Rich Plasma(PRP), and its importance.
- Complications and managing complications.
- Selecting your first implant case.
- Case discussions and hands-on.
Day 3
- LIVE SURGERIES PERFORMED BY PARTICIPANTS
Doctors will bring their own patients.
Limited enrollment ensures one on one interaction between the instructor and participants
to enhance the learning experience.
Hands - On Exercises on various treatment planning modalities, suturing techniques, and implant placement.
Participants are encouraged to bring their cases and treatment plan them during the course as a part of the Hands on exercise. Panorex, periapical radiographs, models, bite registration and intra oral pictures are a must for this exercise.
DO IT YOURSELF - LIVE PATIENT SURGERY
At New York Implant Institute our goal is not only to educate but to ensure that participants gain the confidence to start placing implants in their practices. Therefore our program includes working on live patients at the end of the course. This allows the participant to apply the knowldge and skills gained during the course and perform live surgery on patients under our supervision.
Participants can bring their patients for live surgery. New York Implant Institute will provide
assistance in case selecting a patient if needed. Participants performing live surgery on their patients can send us the patient records including but not limited to- radiographs, intra oral pictures, and models, atleast a month in advance to allow the course director to review the case with you prior to the course.
